About the event

Experience a craggy mountain landscape, the exposed  steep rock walls of Craig Cerrig Gleisiad and the plateau of Fan Frynych. Make it a christmas special and Come and join us for the last walking event of 2023. 

Parking for Craig Cerrig Gleisiad is located in a lay-by on the western side of the A470, 1.8 miles north of the Storey Arms Outdoor Education Centre.

A little over two miles, the loop is short but sweet with some amazing views of both east and west sides of brecon.

Breakdown of hike is as follows

Hike Distance: 2.3 miles / 4 km

Hike Duration: 1-2 hours

About Me

I decided to climb my first mountain back in 2022 Little did I realise that it would become a catalyst to help me come to terms with my thoughts and, on occasion, my days of challenges. This decision came after  personal losses both from natural causes and suicide that caused the decline of my mental health, this further resulted in a developing a drug addiction. I was able too seek help through rehab and group therapy sessions I found that I wasn't alone. So don't ever think you are. I  understand how hard it can be reaching out  if anything this is the hardest part. I cant assure anything but once you get past this, it does get better.  I maybe recovering but I am still and always will be an addict. To help with my recovery i now climb mountains. I've scaled more than 500 mountains to date.

Foreverinthehills has been launched for people who not only enjoy exploring and hiking but for individuals who have gone through or are going through difficult circumstances, and just need someone to talk too.
